Raoulia australis, a New Zealand scabweed found in from the coast to quite high altitudes. It usually grows as a very flat mat but in coastal conditions where the surrounding sand is constantly moving it tends to mound up on the windward side where the plant and its roots traps blowing sand. In summer it often turns golden with masses of petalless flowerheads
