The Common Vegetable Sheep (<i>Raoulia eximia</i>) is a New Zealand alpine plant that forms large hummocks that from a distance look like grazing sheep. Despite the name it is not that common and has suffered in recent years from a die-back problem possibly caused by extra exposure to ultra-violet radiation due to ozone depletion. This specimen on Foggy. Peak was fairly high up the mountain but elsewhere it can be found at lower altitudes
