Bloody Dock or Red-veined Dock (Rumex sanguineus), a strongly bright red-veined summer-flowering perennial found from Europe to southwest Asia and North Africa. It may also have green or purple-veined foliage. The flowers are minute but are borne on a stem up to 1m tall It is edible but is mainly cultivated as an ornamental. The red veined forms are sometimes listed as variety sanguineus or subspecies sanguineus. Order: Caryophyllales, Family: Polygonaceae
