Weeping Callery Pear (Pyrus calleryana 'Pendula') in early spring, just as the flowers open. This weeping cultivar of a deciduous tree native to China is usually grafted onto a tall standard stock to allow the weeping effect to be seen to the best effect, the branches eventually trailing to ground level. It is primarily grown for its form, but also has a good covering of white flowers in spring and bright orange to red autumn foliage. The small, inedible fruits may be red-tinted, though this is sometimes masked by the russet overtones. Order: Rosales, Family: Rosaceae
