Supplejack (Ripogonum scandens), a vigorous evergreen climbing shrub, a liane or liana, native to New Zealand Its leaves are large (up to 125mm long) and leathery, and clothe dense, tangled stems that can scale large trees. In late spring and early summer, it produces sprays of tiny green flowers that develop into berries that redden when ripe. This photo shows a variation on the typical foliage that is sometimes seen on the lower stems of young plants.
