Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus aggregate), starting to spread quickly in sandy soil. This strong-growing, deciduous bramble has very thorny stems and deliciously tart fruit. It is widely naturalised in the temperate zones and because of its rampant growth it is often considered a weed. The specific status of the blackberry is undecided, and it may be a natural hybrid of several Eurasian and/or North American species.
