Mature seed pods of White Mustard or Yellow Mustard (<i>Sinapis alba [syn. Brassica alba]), an annual native to Europe and the Mediterranean region. It is primarily grown as a cover crop and a green manure but also produces the mustard seed used in the production of mustard and flavourings. The flowers are usually pale yellow but modern strains often have white flowers, sometimes with a hint of purple.
