Streptocarpus wendlandii, a monocarpic. South African. Cape Primrose that has just one very large (up to 75 x 60cm</i>), velvety leaf and sprays of tiny mauve flowers. This example had germinated in a crack in a rotting log. While the rather light colour suggests a lack of nitrogen, it was otherwise healthy. Order: Lamiales, Family: Gesneriaceae
