The young flowers and foliage of the Bastard. Service. Tree (<i>Sorbus x thuringiaca</i>), a hybrid between the mountain ash (<i>Sorbus aucuparia</i>) and the whitebeam (<i>Sorbus aria</i>). The foliage is an interesting intermediate between the two species; not pinnate like the mountain ash, but shaped like the rounded leaves of the whitebeam though with lobes.
