Rhododendron 'Butterfly' (Rhododendron campylocarpum x 'Mrs Milner'), a rather open bush up to around 2m tall, with open trusses of red-spotted, pale yellow flowers. It was raised by Slocock of Great Britain and introduced in 1940. Because of its somewhat leggy habit and pale flowers it has been largely superseded by more recent yellow-flowered cultivars, though its heat-resistance is a bonus. Order: Ericales, Family: Ericaceae
