Raoulia hookeri, a low, spreading scabweed that forms a mat of fine silver-grey foliage rosettes. It can grow to 60cm wide and is a New Zealand native found the central North Island southwards from sea level to 1800m. It prefers to grow in sandy or gravelly soil and is often found in riverbeds, where its silver-grey colouration makes it hard to see among the similarly coloured stones and pebbles. Minute white to cream flowerheads appear from spring. Order: Asterales, Family: Asteraceae
