Arnold. Hawthorn (<i>Crataegus arnoldiana</i>), a deciduous shrub up to tree up to 7m tall and wide, native to the northeastern United States. It is considered to be a natural hybrid between Crataegus intricata and Crataegus mollis and is sometimes classified, along with other hybrids of the same parentage, as Crataegus x anomala. It has white flowers in spring, followed by clusters of 15cm wide, globose, bright red fruit that has coloured by late summer to early autumn.
