Rhododendron pachysanthum (syn. Rhododendron venturi</i>) 'Silbervelours', a cultivar of a small densely-foliaged shrub native to Taiwan where it occurs at around 3300m altitude. In contrast to the species, which has a thick rusty brown indumentum on both sides of the foliage, 'Silbervelours' has pale whitish grey indumentum until the leaves mature, when the upper surfaces become green. The flowers are white to pale pink. It was introduced by Hachmann of Germany in 1988
